Position Description

Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) is seeking a dynamic, self-starter to join our Information Systems team as a Programmer Analyst reporting to the Director of Administrative Computing.

This position will work on-site at our main campus in Springfield and will provide application programming, database extractions using UniQuery and software implementation to support our campus-wide administrative ERP system, Colleague by Ellucian. This position will take part in design and requirements gathering as well as developing solutions and executing test plans.

Specific duties include the following:

  • Support various departments in the area of system analysis, system design, programming, testing and implementation of new software.
  • Confer with systems users to determine administrative computing systems’ needs.
  • Analyze and document user requirements, determine IT needs, evaluate and recommend solutions.
  • Create queries and reports for LLCC faculty and staff.
  • Develop new application and/or customize existing applications to meet end-users’ specifications, using Envision Tool Kit case tool in a Unidata environment.
  • Write programs and reports in a Unidata environment to fulfill users’ requests.
  • Create/maintain all system security, including user accounts and passwords.
  • Maintain and administer ERP applications software including Ellucian Colleague, WebAdvisor and ROC Easy Spooler.
  • Manage application environment including test, development and production accounts.
  • Document systems configurations and standard operating procedures.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve ERP-related issues.

Position Requirements

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 or more years programming experience. Candidates with extensive, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Additionally, candidates must have a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products; ability to remain flexible in an ever-changing environment; be a team player with ability to work both in a collaborative environment and independently with minimal supervision; possess strong programming, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills; and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical audience.

The ideal candidate for this position would have a strong proficiency in Ellucian Colleague Studio/Envision programming; experience using/supporting Colleague applications; prior experience working in higher education; and experience with any of the following: Colleague system administration processes, WebAdvisor, Ellucian mobile solutions, Financial Aid, Human Resources, Accounting, and Unidata.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug-screen.
